So where do we go from here?
The thing is, hate cannot be fought with hate, as hard as we may try. The only thing we can do is take a deep breath, take a good look at our world, and work hard to love and fight for what's right. When we look around and see injustice, it should hurt and it should be hard, it should burden us, and we should feel that weight as motivator to strive for more good in the world. How exactly we build this better world when our powers seem to be working against us, I don't know. One thing I do know though is that we can start with ourselves. We can start with evaluating our attitude and perception of the World around us. If we believe in the good of humanity, then we must live lives that reflect that, no matter how hard it might be to do so. We must love people, as hard as they may make it, and we must constantly be courageous in our kindness. A lot of people think that being nice won't get you anywhere in life, but being positive will change your life completely, I promise you. It's a question of mindset- if you believe in the good in the world, you will look for it even on the darkest of days.
I'm blessed, because I can trust that God has everything under control, and I believe that he rules all the nations. Whether you believe in God or Fate or none of it whatsoever, still go forth in the belief of the innate compassion that is our part of our humanity.
As Hillary Clinton said:
"please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it."
